WI vs ENG 3rd T20: Wiley and Wood spells make it 3-0 for England

England vs West Indies 3rd ODI: Wood and Wiley make it 3-0 for England

English bowlers David Wiley and Mark Wood completely dominated the 3rd Wi vs Eng T20I as they sent the whole Windies team back for just 71 runs. One couldn’t believe that the Windies team which is full of power hitters and T20 specialists could collapse on such a low total.

1st Innings: Windies batsmen in a mayhem

West Indies won the toss and chose to bat first. Shai Hope and John Campbell came onto open the innings with a lot of confidence but just within the first over Wiley got the wicket of Hope and everything went downhill from there. Campbell and Shimeron could just make 11 & 8 runs respectively. The middle order also toppled and none of the batsmen could stay on the field for long. Half of the team returned to the pavilion for less than 50 runs.

Even captain Jason Holder and master blaster Nicholas Pooran could not add anything sufficient to the total. The entire team could just manage to make 71 runs.

This was one of the lowest totals Windies has ever made.

England bowlers rule the match

England, on the other hand, was spot on, David Wiley made an emphatic point while Mark Wood didn’t miss a beat, Willey claimed 4 for 7 and Wood 3 for 9 in a staggering West Indies innings lasting just 13 overs in which four players reached double figures but none of them passed 11 runs. Together Wood and Wiley bowled the most memorable spell for England and ensured a great win.

Wiley was declared Man of the Match for his phenomenal performance.

2nd Innings: England cruise through

The chase was very easy for experienced English batsmen and everything went in favor as they did not have to struggle to reach the meager target.

Hales made a sharp 20 off 13, while Bairstow, dropped by Hetmyer off Holder’s bowling when he was on 19, went on to reach 37 off 31 before he was bowled by Devendra Bishoo. At that point, England needed just 12 more runs for victory and Eoin Morgan saw his team over the line with a six and a four in consecutive balls off Bishoo.

It was a disappointing performance by the Windies and an overwhelming one by England. English men have now won the series with 3-0.

With the World Cup 2019 just a few months away, this series win will be a great boost for the whole English team, but the same can’t be said for West Indies. What do you think of the performance of both the teams? Let us know in the comments.
