Cricket West Indies (CWI) has also announced its 15-man West Indian squad for the Cricket World Cup 2019. The biggest surprise is the inclusion of Andre Russel, who has been a top performer at the IPL 2019. The formerly neglected all-rounder will be making a comeback to the West Indies outfit after a long absence due to conflicts with the previous top brass at the CWI.

The Squad

Here’s the West Indies squad for the World Cup 2019:

  1. Jason Holder (c)

The official announcement came late on Wednesday.

Bowling

Shannon Gabriel, the fiery pacer, has also made it to the list of players who will be flying to England for the World Cup. Kemar Roach, Oshane Thomas, Ashley Nurse, and Sheldon Cottrell will be playing as specialist bowlers.

In addition, the all-rounders, Andre Russel, Jason Holder, and Carlos Braithwaite will assist the specialist bowlers.

Batting

Chris Gayle is probably the biggest name you can spot in the squad and he will be leading a power-packed West Indies batting line up. The likes of Evin Lewis, Andre Russel, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, Darren Bravo and Shaia Hope will complement Universe Boss at the mega event.
