SRH: Fixtures, Tickets and History

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) debuted in 2013 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and have won the league title in the 2016 edition. They were the runners up last year. Despite a brilliant campaign in 2018, SRH couldn’t quite finish off their journey as Chennai Super Kings emerged victorious in the grand final. Here, we have gathered the details about SRH IPL 2019 matches, tickets, and their IPL record so far.

This year, SRH will be led by Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson with quite a few big names in the squad including David Warner, Rashid Khan, Martin Guptill, Shakib Al Hasan among others.

SRH’s IPL History

After its inclusion in the IPL 2013, the team has finished 4th and 6th twice each with one title and one runner-up spot. This is not a bad journey in the IPL considering RCB has never won the competition despite playing all the editions ever since its inception in 2008.

The team has played 6 seasons as it was commissioned in 2013. SRH clinched the title in 2016 under the dynamic captaincy of Australian explosive batsman David Warner by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs.

Here’s SRH’s journey in the IPL so far.

Home Ground – Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium

Opened in 2004, Rajiv Gandhi International cricket stadium has a capacity of 38,000. Other sources suggest the capacity to be more than 50,000. Located in Uppal, Hyderabad, the stadium serves as the home venue for SunRisers Hyderabad and Deccan Chargers before their suspension.

The venue has hosted 5 tests and 6 ODIs however, it has been a consistently used for domestic matches ever since its inception in 2004. The wicket generally favors spinners, however, the ball comes on to bat nicely in the earlier overs. The ground is distributed into North, South, East and West Pavilions with North and South Pavilions having their terraces as well.
