BCB President, Nazmul Hassan has asked to send Shakib a letter, directing him to return to Bangladesh immediately.
“Our camp is beginning. I have asked to send a letter to Shakib immediately to come back. Let’s see how he responds to this”.
The step seems to be taken in the wake of Shakib not getting enough competitive cricket at the IPL 12. He has only played one match this season and with other star performers like David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Rashid Khan and Kane Williamson top contenders for 4 overseas slots, he is likely to sit on the bench for a major part of the tournament.
Earlier, Shakib had called his personal coach to India to keep himself ready for the World Cup. The training camp for Bangladesh begins 22nd April and they will play a tri-nation tournament in Ireland before the mega event.
