PSL 2019: Quetta Gladiators replace their young pacer due to injury

Quetta Gladiators replace their young pacer due to injury

Quetta Gladiators have been known to provide chances to many un-capped cricketers at perhaps the highest platform possible for them to play at. Another example this year was the pick of a young 16-year-old fast-bowler from Lower Dir, Naseem Shah.

He was added to the Emerging roaster of players for the purple force during the selection process and there was a lot of talks if the kid was going to be given a chance to feature in the playing XI for the PSL 4 season. But unfortunately, the dream was short-lived for Naseem Shah as he suffered a lower back injury and was undergoing a rehabilitative process at the National Cricket Academy.

The Replacement

Today the Quetta Gladiators twitter handle confirmed the news that Naseem has not recovered on time and they are going to name the Pakistan Under-19 player Muhammad Husnain as his replacement for the tournament who will now feature for the Gladiators in the PSL season 2019.

Here’s the official announcement:

Muhammad Husnain last featured for the Pakistan Under-19 in an ODI match against Bangladesh in Galle where he picked up 2 wickets and gave away 52 runs. This is an interesting choice as Husnain is still 18 years old only and he will try his best to impress the selectors at the biggest domestic platform to be picked up in the International side.

Later on, in another tweet, Quetta Gladiators also confirmed that they will still carry the injured Naseem Shah with them in the league as they want to assist the 16-year-old in his rehab and provide him with exposure.

Have a look at their tweet:

PSL 4 is going to start from 14th February and it will be interesting to see the new playing XI for the Gladiators this season.
