The chief minister of Sindh on Sunday said that the PSL 4 schedule and venue for the remaining matches have changed, and now Pakistan-leg of the ongoing HBL PSL 2019 would be held entirely in Karachi after PSL 2019 schedule was changed by PCB.
When the reporters asked Murad Ali Shah – Cheif Minister of Sindh – about the possibility of shifting the entire Pakistan leg to Karachi, the Cheif Minister responded that in addition to the five scheduled matches at National Stadium Karachi, the city will host the other three games scheduled initially in Lahore as well.
PCB has also officially announced that all the eight matches will be played at Karachi now.

PCB said that due to delay in the opening of Lahore airport created problems for them. They faced difficulties including securing production equipment and the commitment of broadcast crew, as well as finalizing the logistics.
Initially, it was decided that Lahore will host 3 matches of PSL 2019 while Karachi will host 5 including the final. But due to recent ongoing tensions on the border with India after Pulwama attack and uncontrollable developments due to the closure of Lahore’s airspace have forced the Pakistan Cricket Board to make this decision.
There were also reports that all the matches might be played in UAE, but last week, Pakistan Cricket Board and owners of franchises held a meeting and announced that PSL 4 would go ahead with the initial plan to have all eight matches in Pakistan, after the tensions at the border between neighbors Pakistan and India.
Till now, 44 matches have been played so far in the 4th edition of Pakistan Super League with Peshawar Zalmi currently on top in the points table with 10 points. Islamabad United is on 2nd with 10 points as well but has less net-run-rate.
PSL 4 New Schedule
According to the press release issued by PCB, Lahore Qalandars will meet Islamabad United at 7 PM PST on 9 March. 11 March will be a doubleheader day where Multan Sultans will face Lahore Qalandars at 2 PM PST while Karachi Kings will meet Peshawar Zalmi at 7 PM.
On 13th March, Qualifier (Top 2 side will face each other) will take place while on March 14, Eliminator 1 between the third and fourth-placed sides will be played. Eliminator 2 between the winner of Eliminator 1 and loser of Qualifier will take place on 15 March.
The final will take place as per schedule at 7 PM PST on 17 March.
Here’s how the complete new schedule with changes looks like:
For all the ticket holders of the Lahore matches, PCB said:
“The PCB will refund tickets for all Lahore matches as per the face value of the tickets with more details to follow in due course.”
As soon the reports were published about the PSL 2019 schedule changed, people started to tweet on this matter. It was a mix of reactions as Lahoris aren’t happy at all while Karachiites will be rejoicing another 3 matches at their home.

We surely think it’s a good move that PSL 2019 schedule changed due to uncertainty over Airports closure in Lahore. What do you think? Let us know in comments.
