34 matches, 6 teams, 1 trophy, the journey of PSL 2019 has been nothing short of phenomenal. The league has had scintillating matches and some nail-biting finishes. The closing ceremony of PSL 2019 lived up to everyone’s expectations as it celebrated the spirit of cricket.
The ceremony started off by observing a 1-minute silence for the martyrs of the New Zealand attack. Then, PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani and CM Sindh, Murad Ali Shah addressed the crowds, saluting the passion of every Pakistani for the game. CM Sindh declared it a victory of Karachi and shared his desire to have all matches in the city of lights from next year on wards.

Abrar ul Haq entertains to the core
After the formal addresses, the festivities kick started and everyone rejoiced over the fact that cricket has finally come home. Although there was news that there will be no concert in the PSL closing ceremony, but later singers did give performances on various songs. The first to entertain the audiences was the legendary Abrar ul Haq, he entertained everyone with his iconic Punjabi songs, the crowds went crazy listening to them. Whether it was Nach Majajan or Preeto, all the songs instilled energy into the crowd, making them enjoy every moment of the closing ceremony.
Aima Baig’s tribute to Nazia Hasan
It was then Aima Baig who came onto the stage with Shuja Haider and sang some beautiful songs of Nazia Hasan, starting off from Dosti. She was accompanied by veteran music director and singer, Shuja Haider whose tunes made us fall in love with every song. Disco Deewane was our particular favorite which brought back a lot of memories. The energy was high and the crowd chanted every song with full zeal.
Fawad Khan steals the show
Despite great performances from all singers, one man who truly stole the show was Fawad Khan who sang the official anthem of PSL4. The magic of his voice spilled all over and one could not resist from tapping a foot. The whole crowd seemed untied and energized, it was surely a sight to see. The cherry on top was Young Desi’s spectacular rap, the youngster just won our heart.
Junoon instills a new Junoon in the audience
The cast of Maula Jutt and world famous football star Carlos Puyol also graced the occasion with their presence and shared their good wishes for the tournament. Junoon closed the show after singing some incredibly patriotic songs including Dil Dil Pakistan, Hai Jazba Junoon, and Sayonee which rejuvenated the audiences. From the opening ceremony to the closing ceremony, Junoon made sure that Pakistanis have a great time!
After the memorable closing ceremony, the countdown for the final match began. Both the teams Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators are fully prepared for the battle, let’s see who wins?
