Pak vs SA T20 Series: Faf Du Plessis Rested, Stand-in Captain of South Africa announced!

Faf Du Plessis rested in Pak vs SA Series

The successful South African skipper this summer, FAF DU PLESSIS  will not feature in the last two T20’s against the World Number one T20 side Pakistan. The Pretoria born stylish right-handed dynamic batsman and skipper of the South African national team across all three formats will be rested for the final two T20s.

The decision was announced because of the hectic cricket schedule that FaF has been involved in for quite some time and is said to be taken keeping in mind the ODI  World cup in sight this May/June 2019. But the fact that the South African skipper has been struggling to control the over-rate problem during the entire series can’t be ignored either and this may be a tactic by the South African board to secure FaF from any further suspension.

The South African captain was banned for the 3rd test Match in Johannesburg against Pakistan earlier in January when Dean Elgar stood in as a make-ship captain for South Africa.

WHO WILL CAPTAIN SOUTH-AFRICA IN THE LAST TWO T20’S?

Although South Africa is ranked 5th in t20 rankings, they are 1-0 up in the T20 series against Pakistan after a thrilling finish in Cape Town on 1st February 2019  thanks to some outstanding fielding by David Miller. Now more good news followed for Miller as he has been announced as the South African skipper for the final Two-T20s against Pakistan. Although Miller has the experience to captain a franchise like Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2016, this will be his first stint as an International captain

With enormous experience and having played for a number of franchises across the world, he seems to be the most appropriate choice to stand in as T20 captain replacing Faf Du Plessis. This will be a proud moment for the Durban-born clean hitter but it will certainly be a challenge for him as well.
