Bangladeshi quick, Mustafizur Rahman has tied the knot with his cousin Samia Parvin Shimu on Friday in a small ceremony. The wedding follows the close shave Mustafiz got in the New Zealand mass shootings last week where they were set to play the last test match of the series.

The players are now back in Bangladesh and it looks like they are in a hurry to utilize their time off for their personal lives. As many as three cricketers, including Mehidy Hasan, Mominul Haque and Mustafizur are getting married before their next tour to Ireland.

Mominul is set to marry in April whereas Mehidy has already got hooked with his long-time fiance on Friday, the same day Mustafizur’s wedding ceremony took place in a hurry.

Not sure if the woman in the picture is her bride.

The decision was seemingly taken to divert the speedster’s attention from the horrendous mass killings they had to witness a few days back. His brother, Mahfuzur Rahman Mithu told the media that it was their mother’s decision.

“Mustafizur was really upset after coming home, following the incident in New Zealand. That’s why we decided to get him married. It was my mother’s decision. The wedding reception will take place after the World Cup.”

The pacer will also not feature in the Indian Premier League as Bangladesh Cricket Board had decided to ensure their star players’ fitness ahead of the World Cup.

This is quite an explanation for marrying, isn’t it? What are your thoughts on it? Let us know in the comments section.
