Amid global efforts to promote a greener planet, cricket hasn’t stayed behind either as Royal Challengers Bangalore aka RCB will be seen in green jerseys on Global Recycling Day 2019.
The day is celebrated on 18th March every year – it started in 2018 – to promote eco-friendly practices of recycling and putting the planet first. We have already witnessed RCB donning green jerseys in the previous seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in a bid to promote the go green campaign. This year will be no different as the franchise will celebrate multiple ‘Green Games’ to play their role in the preservation of the environment.
The efforts to save the planet are not mere claims as the franchise will be wearing shirts made out of recycled plastics for the Green Games. The team’s official Twitter handle confirmed the news, saying:
Did you know the green jerseys worn for the RCB Green Games are made of recycled plastic? The jersey is a symbol of our promise to
#GoGreen and our way of stepping up to save the planet. This Recycling day, let’s take a vow to do our bit. We are #GameForGreen.

The IPL franchise has also urged everyone to play their part in ensuring a green future.
While the team is known for such initiatives, the fans are yet to see RCB lay their hands on the silverware. With yet another strong team this year, RCB would hope to start with winning ways and bring home the title for the first time in IPL 2019 which is going to start on 23rd March.
