IPL 2019: Match 53 - One Last Chance for RR as DC Eyes Qualifier Berth

We are moving closer to the end of the league stage and the battle for the 4th spot is making things interesting at the Indian Premier League (IPL). Delhi Capitals (DC) vs Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Feroz Shah Kotla will provide one last chance for the away side to press for the last playoffs spot. The last time two teams met was when Rahane’s century was eclipsed by Pant’s destructive 78*.

Team News

Both teams have some really bad news. For Delhi Capitals, their premier fast bowler and the top wicket-taker this season, Kagiso Rabada has left for South Africa following an injury scare. South Africa team management has called him back to rest him ahead of the mega event. The injury would mean that Trent Boult will be an automatic selection like the previous game against Chennai Super Kings where he played as Rabada complained of back pain.

For Rajasthan, their captain, Steven Smith has also taken a flight to Australia to join the team camp after one long year of absence from the international circuit. Like Warner, Smith has been selected in Australia’s squad for the World Cup and he will no longer be available for Rajasthan this season.
