IPL 2019: Match 50 - Top 2 Teams Lock Horns for Supremacy

It is time for the two teams which have already made it to the playoffs: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) at Chepauk as both teams look to finish at the top of the table. After 12 games, the two teams have 16 points each, with Delhi edging past Chennai on net run rate.

It might look like that the match has little significance, however, the last few matches are crucial in terms of deciding the ranks of top 4 teams. The first two teams get a direct chance to qualify for the final through Qualifier 1, while the losing team will still have an opportunity to make it to the grand finale by winning Qualifier 2.

Team News

MS Dhoni has been in and out in the last couple of games due to a minor injury, and it looks like he is not 100% yet. Chances are, he might have to sit out again tonight. Ravindra Jadeja and Faf du Plessis, who missed out their previous match against Mumbai Indians, are fully fit and they will be available for selection in tonight’s game.

Delhi Capitals have been on a roll, winning their previous three matches on the trot. The batsmen and bowlers have all chipped in and not many changes can be expected as it can disturb the winning combination. However, with playoffs seat already reserved, they might give chance to some new faces in the team.
