IPL 2019: Match 44 - Can CSK Maintain Their Winning Run at Home?

Two teams in the top 4 will battle it out tonight at Chepauk as they look to stay in the upper half of the table for smooth playoffs qualification. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Mumbai Indians (MI) will promise to be a cracker of a contest.

CSK are well-placed at the top of the table with 16 points while MI are at 3rd spot with 12 points. Imran Tahir is at the second place in the list of leading wicket-takers this season with 16 wickets from 11 innings. Delhi’s Kagiso Rabada tops the chart with 23 wickets.

Team News

Last time the two teams met, Mumbai pacers made short work of Chennai’s batting. Beuran Hendricks, the South African pacer, has joined the camp as Alzarri Joseph’s replacement and he will be available for tonight’s game.

The hosts have a well-settled unit and they can tinker around with their spinners. Mitchell Santner and Harbhajan Singh have been rotated quite well by MS Dhoni this season and it remains to be seen who plays tonight. Harbhajan’s brilliant run in IPL 12 might make him favorite to slot into the XI.
