Father of a famous Indian Cricketer joins Indian National Congress

It’s the elections season in India and every day we hear the news of a new celebrity joining a political block. The recent addition is of Chennai Super King‘s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s father Anirudhsinh, and sister, Nainaba, both of whom joined opposition party Congress. The cricketer’s father and sister joined the Congress in Gujarat on Sunday in the presence of party leader Hardik Patel.

A family feud in the making?

However, the situation can turn a little heated for Jadeja soon as his wife and father are on the opposite sides now. Just a month ago, Jadeja’s wife Rivaba, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on March 3 in Jamnagar in the presence of sitting MP Poonamben Maadam. Now both the daughter in law and father in law are in opposite clans for elections 2019.

The all rounder’s father is most likely to contest the elections from Jamnagar area in Gujarat from where Jadeja originally belongs. The voting process in Gujarat will take place on April 23 during the third phase and Jadeja’s father will test his luck at the elections for the first time. It seems now apart from IPL 2019, Jadeja has some other serious worries including whom to support and whom not to support in the current political situation as both the parties have people close to Jadeja’s heart.

Other cricketers joining politics

In recent times we have seen many renowned cricketers entering the political field, the biggest name out of which is of Gautam Gambhir who joined right winged BJP to contest elections in Delhi from his area. Other notable personalities include Mohammad Azharuddin, Navjyot Singh Sidhu, Mohammad Kaif who joined politics after their successful cricketing career.

Whether these cricketers will be successful in their political stint or not is too early to say but their representation will surely make the competition very interesting because it is yet to be seen that can they cash their popularity amongst the masses or not.

Who do you think Jadeja should support in the elections? Let us know in the comments.
