The odds are not in favor of Mumbai Indians this time as they suffer from a mighty blow once again. Just a day ago it was shared that their front line bowler Lasith Malinga would not be able to join the team for at least the first six matches due to a domestic tournament in Srilanka. Now the news is that another fast bowler Adam Milne of Mumbai Indians has been ruled out of the tournament.
Milne suffers Injury
New Zealand’s Adam Milne has suffered a brutal injury after which it is rumored that he won’t be able to play in IPL 2019. The 26-year-old, who was bought by the three-time champions for Rs 75-lakh, suffered a swollen heel. It is not just Milne but many other fast bowlers have also experienced injuries ahead of IPL, these include Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi, Lungi Ngidi, and Andrich Nortje.
Finding a replacement
With Milne’s exit, the bowling lineup of Mumbai Indians has weakened further, they will now be trying to find a replacement who can be as promising as Milne. Mumbai Indians are reported to be roping in West Indies quick Alzarri Joseph as Milne’s replacement. Mumbai will be playing their first match against Delhi Capitals at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. They will need to finalize all the changes as early as possible to shape the best possible team before the kick start of crucial matches.
Currently, the team has NewZealand’s Mitchell McClenaghan and Ben Cutting to provide the pace attack. Both the bowlers are highly experienced and can provide the team with major breakthroughs however, they will still need more options to strengthen the fast bowling department further.
Mumbai Indians explosive squad
The two times champion of the tournament, Mumbai Indians have got a great squad at hand. The presence of all-rounder Hardik Pandya, veteran Yuvraj Singh and run machine Rohit Sharma together can turn the game over for Mumbai. They have the capability to scare off any opposition, Pollard and Bumrah also bowl supremely well so bowling should hopefully not be a major concern for Mumbai Indians but cricket pundits are worried that absence of specialist pacers can hurt the team. Well, only time can tell whether Rohit’s team will suffer due to this loss or attack back with all it’s glory?
